Dr. NakaMats - ‘The Greatest Inventor In The World’

Yoshiro Nakamatsu, also known by his alias Dr. NakaMats, is a 93-year-old Japanese inventor famous for having over 3,500 patents to his name.

He has a PhD from the University of Tokyo and is also known for his rather interesting creative process to come up with new ideas. The Doctor believes that he comes up with his best ideas underwater, therefore, he dives without any gear aside from his trusty waterproof notepad, stays underwater, and holds his breath for as long as possible until an idea comes up in his mind. “0.5 seconds before death, I visualize an invention.” as he says so himself. He also has a “calm room”, which is a bathroom tiled with 24-karat gold, in his house which he claims to aid in creative thinking as it blocks the radio and television waves and an elevator, which he only refers to as a “vertical moving room”, that he also claims to aid in creativity and coming up with new ideas. Aside from all this, he has also predicted that he will live up to the age of 144, something he believes all humans can do if they take care of their health properly.

Among his many inventions include, the “PyonPyon” which are jumping shoes equipped with leaf springs on the soles, a toilet seat lifter, a pillow that prevents a person from falling asleep while driving, a self-defense wig wherein a weight is attached to a wig and the user is supposed to swing it at an attacker, glasses in the shape of eyes so the user won’t need to wear glasses, and the “Love Jet” which is a sexual enhancement product he created out of worry for Japan’s declining birth rate, he claimed to have invented this to “save Japan” in an interview back in 1995. He even claimed to have invented and sold the patent of the Floppy Disc to IBM in 1979 with the details being “confidential” unfortunately.

Unfortunately, Dr. NakaMats was diagnosed with prostate cancer. However, he is also constantly researching to come up with a revolutionary new way to cure his disease.
